Sculpture
Experience the third dimension.
Whether picking up a chisel or molding clay, you can become immersed in the very physical exploration of stone, oil or water based clay, wire, fiber or a combination of media. From figurative sculpture, classic or contemporary, to abstract forms, find the style and medium that fits your vision. FEATURED CLASSES:
Introduction to Stone Sculpting
Joshua Wiener Ability: Beginner
This class will introduce beginners to the world of subtractive sculpting. Each student will start with a block of stone and study both traditional and contemporary sculpting techniques. Stone is a surprisingly easy material with which to learn sculpting. The permanence and physicality of the process makes it fulfilling and allows for installation in a wide variety of locations.
Monthly ongoing | Thursdays, 9 am–12 pm | Jan 7–May 27
$110 per month | Materials: $15–$60, depending on size of the stone
Sculpting the Portrait and Figure
Valentin Okorokov Ability: All Levels
Instruction is based on the classic, traditional study of art in which the main goal is to gain a profound understanding of nature and its artistic interpretation. Explore classical mastery of technique as you are pushed to develop your own creative perception. Learn to master the technical accuracy of structure, volumes and planes, as well as the subtleties of constructing the human figure and sculpting the portrait as an expression of the inner soul.
Monthly ongoing | Mondays, 1–4:30 pm | Jan 4–May 24
$164 per month | Materials: $50 for 25 lbs. of oil-based clay
We're flexible! You can register and pay for only the classes you plan to attend each month. CLICK HERE to see our class fee schedule. Valid for ongoing classes. Workshops are a set fee and cannot be pro-rated.
