Open Door Scholarship Fund
The Art Students League is dedicated to offering opportunities to promising artists through the Open Door Scholarship Fund. The Fund seeks to foster inclusiveness and access to visual arts education for adults, youth, and individuals living with disabilities by providing scholarships to individuals of all ages and abilities from the Denver metro area. This outreach program began in 1987 and serves youth and adult populations by promoting art activities for economically disadvantaged families who could not afford to pay for such programs.
Specific scholarships are funded by Art Students League supporters and members, both individuals and foundations, either through grants or special gifts. We are grateful for these important donations, which include gifts from:

Procedures for Adult and Youth Scholarship Applications
Step 1
Download a scholarship application: ADULT | YOUTH (Ongoing classes Sept-May) | YOUTH SUMMER (Camps and Summer Teen Workshops)
Step 2
Submit your completed application to our Scholarship Coordinator, Clare Puskarczyk. The Scholarship Coordinator will contact you for an interview if funds are available. You will need to present proof of income, and select three possible choices of classes based on interest and availability. Usually, the first choice is awarded.
Step 3
The Scholarship Coordinator will register you for class and send an award letter which includesa request for a thank you letter addressing the particular funder, to be submitted to the Art Students League of Denver.
Special Notes: Scholarship applications can be accepted at anytime, but are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. If there are no funds available, we will keep applications on file in the order they were received.
Only one scholarship will be awarded per applicant per year. However, if an instructor requests or recommends that the student’s scholarship be extended, we will review whether or not to extend the scholarship.
