Big HeART Scholarship Program
Don’t let finances hold you back! We’ve revamped our scholarship program to offer promising students a more in-depth experience through longer-term financial assistance.
The Art Students League of Denver is committed to making our art experiences accessible to all members of our community. Toward this end, ASLD raises scholarship funds through development efforts with foundations, corporations and individuals, to ensure our arts education is accessible to all segments of the community, including lower-income patrons.
These funds are administered by a Scholarship Committee, which meets to review applications and award scholarships ranging from partial to full registration fees to students of all ages.
Scholarships are funded by Art Students League supporters and members, both individuals and foundations, either through grants or special gifts. We are grateful for these important donations, which include gifts from:
| Anschutz Foundation Community Shares ECA Foundation First Bank JFM Foundation |
Kinder Morgan Foundation Meininger Art SupplyTarget The Lillis Foundation The Melvin and Elaine Wolf Foundation |
Weckbaugh Foundation Wells Fargo Foundation Wolf Foundation Xcel Energy Foundation |
Scholarship Awards
Scholarships are awarded to individuals who demonstrate an interest in the arts, dedication to learning, and financial need. Selections are made through review of applications and submitted letters of recommendation. Scholarships will be awarded for full or partial tuition based on need and availability of funds. Students receiving awards will be given a certificate and should register for their selected course(s) at ASLD’s main office as soon as possible to have access to the broadest range of classes/workshops as some have limited availability. Maximum award is $1750 for tuition (registration and related materials fees) and a $250 gift card for supplies at Meininger Art Supply. When registering for classes, scholarship recipients will be required to pay $10 per class from funds other than scholarship award.
Scholarship funds may be applied toward any choice of ongoing classes or workshops. Funds must be used no later than June 15, 2014, toward registration and materials fees for any courses running from September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2014. Any unused funds are returned to ASLD’s scholarship pool and will be made available to applicants in the following cycle.
