Youth On-Going Programs

Art is a language all its own. When children draw, paint, print, sculpt, or mold a piece of clay, they integrate the fundamentals of line, pattern, color, texture and value into their vocabulary. Let your child explore this fantastic frontier and let their imaginations run wild.

Procedural Agreements for Fall/Spring Youth Classes

I. Pick-Up/Drop-Off

Because we care about the safety of your children, parents/guardians must escort their children to and from their assigned studio. Please be sure your child arrives on time for class and is picked up promptly.  For youth aged 11+, parents/guardians have the option to sign a waiver form allowing children to sign themselves in and out of the classroom.

***Please note, your student’s classroom will open 5 minutes before the class begins.  Please wait until that time to allow the instructor to set up.

II. Disciplinary Procedures

To ensure that everyone has an enjoyable class experience, disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. At the discretion of ASLD, disruptive students may be expelled without refund. The disciplinary procedures are:

  • Disruptive behavior will be addressed by the classroom teacher.
  • Chronic disruptive behavior will be documented and student will be sent to the office. If necessary, parents will be called and will be asked to pick-up their child for the day.
  • Extreme disciplinary problems, including fighting, bullying, or other disruptive behavior, may result in expulsion.

III. Artwork and Photo Release

By registering your child for class, you authorizing ASLD to use your child’s artwork and/or photo in future League marketing/promotional materials, including electronic formats.

IV. Refund Policy

WORKSHOPS: ASLD Course Credits will be issued only for cancellations received 7 days prior to the start of the workshop. To request a credit, please submit an Course Credit Request Form to Aubrey Ryan, by emailing the form to a.ryan@asld.org.

ON-GOING CLASSES: On-going Class registrations are non-refundable. Please check your calendar before registering for ongoing classes. No refunds will be given if a substitute artist teaches a class due to the temporary absence of the scheduled faculty member. Class registrations may not be transferred to future dates.
