Join us for a one-day workshop where we'll help you explore essential bookmaking structures and stitches in a fun and exploratory class. We'll begin by covering the fundamentals of bookbinding terminology, tools, adhesives, and resources to give students ideas for the creative journey ahead. During this workshop, we’ll create five books and a paper box with a multitude of samples.
Structures include the hardcover accordion book, a single-section pamphlet stitch, Japanese stab binding, single-page books, and a phase box or paper portfolio. These foundational techniques will serve as a springboard for your future book projects. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this workshop is open to all, and we look forward to sharing our passion for book art with you.
Needed Tools: Pencil, notebook for taking notes, OPTIONAL TOOLS: Bone Folder, Ruler, X-acto or other replaceable blade knife, Scissors
