In this class, we will make creatures using slabs of clay and coils. These can be anything- real animals or imaginary ones! To start, we’ll draw what we want our creatures to look like and talk about how moving from 2D to 3D will work and then start building. Once they are built, we can decorate them with underglazes and fire them! The first week of class will be primarily focused on making our clay critters. The second week will be spent on decorating the critters and building and decorating a cardboard habitat for them. At the end of the session, students will have their critters and a really cool habitat to take home!
All supplies are included in the materials fee and will be provided at ASLD.
