In this camp, campers will learn the fundamentals of charcoal sketching with a focus on observing big shapes, understanding light and shadow, and building form. Subjects may include portraits from photos or simple still-life objects, and students will be encouraged to choose what they feel inspired to draw.

We will begin with an introduction to the materials and a short demonstration so campers have plenty of time to work hands-on. Throughout the camp, the emphasis will be on exploration and creativity rather than perfection—creating a relaxed, supportive environment where campers can discover their own artistic voice.
