Gather and arrange various found and recycled materials to make collagraph printmaking plates. After drying and sealing, the plates can be printed using intaglio, relief, or a combination of methods.
The class aims to introduce the medium of collagraph printmaking, its techniques, and offers options for experimentation and exploration. In the first class, students will view print examples, learn about collagraph printmaking, and start constructing a printing plate. In the second class, students will begin printing their plates, try different printing techniques, and if interested, make a second plate. The final class will focus on refining and completing print projects.
