Creature Feature is a hands on workshop focused on fun and easy techniques to ignite your creativity and bring your costume visions to life. Emphasizing the use of materials such as cosplay foam, synthetic fur, and upcycled base materials, this course will center on the creation of the key elements that make a character unique while still allowing your own personality to shine through. Discussions will include explorations into durability, utility, materials selection, and how to combine key elements with makeup, props, and preexisting clothing choices that may already be on hand. In addition, to the opportunity to prototype a garment, cape, bag, or headpiece, each participant will also create astounding ears or horns to upgrade their profile, claws or other expressive fingers to help them point out their own individual world view, and reinvent an old pair of sneakers with claws, fur, scales, or spikes – to leave a lasting impression, wherever they should roam!
