Join us for a one-day workshop where we will explore making decorative paper that will then be made into simple one page books and covers. Students will be shown samples of different qualities of decorative paper to inspire their creativity. Techniques will include rubbings, paste paper, stamping and Japanese methods of creating decorative paper.
During the morning session, techniques will be demonstrated, and students will work to create a collection of different papers. After lunch we will dive into making one page books using our own decorative paper. There will be a demonstration of how to make a variety of one-page books and students will be encouraged to have fun with the process.
This workshop is open to all and we look forward to sharing this experience with all levels.
Students are encouraged to bring an apron, we will be getting out hands dirty!
