Explore the beauty, power, and movement of the horse through figurative sculpture. In this hands-on class, students will learn to construct and sculpt an equine figure in clay while developing an understanding of anatomy, proportion, gesture, and form. We’ll examine the underlying skeletal and muscular structures of the horse and how they influence both movement and surface anatomy.

Through demonstrations and individual instruction, students will build a strong armature, establish dynamic gesture and proportion, and progressively develop their sculpture from large structural forms to refined anatomical details. The class is designed for students interested in both traditional and contemporary approaches to equestrian sculpture. All experience levels are welcome.
