Learn interesting techniques to cover holes and add decorative elements using fabric scraps and embroidery thread. In this course, you will learn: 1. Basic stitches essential for mending 2. How to choose the right embroidery floss 3. Selecting appropriate needles for different tasks 4. The pros and cons of using an embroidery hoop 5. Techniques for applying patches to textiles 6. Bring a project/textile that has wear and tear or holes that you would like to enhance by stitching. I will supply needles, 1 spool of thread per student and 1 embroidery hoop per student. If you have thread you want to use bring it. If you sew with a thimble, bring it as well. Please bring your own scissors, I will not supply those. If you want to share your textiles we welcome all kinds of examples so we can brainstorm how to mend them.
