This class does NOT cover stone setting. Please be sure to wear closed toed shoes, bring an apron or wear old clothes. As we are doing close up work, please bring magnifiers or reading glasses as needed. If you have long hair, please be able to tie it back. It may be helpful to bring a notebook/sketch book and writing utensil to make notes/drawings. You MUST attend both days of the class unless you have sought permission of the instructor to do otherwise.

This workshop focuses on acquiring basic jewelry skills from design development to the completion of a silver ring. Learn how to work with silver to create jewelry using the methods of piercing, measuring, soldering, filing and finishing. We will spend a small part of the class looking at examples of simple rings and techniques that can be used to enhance and elevate a 'simple' silver ring. Students will be given handouts documenting basic techniques and formulas used during the class.
