In this fun and approachable mixed media class, you'll learn how to create vibrant, textured landscape art using paint, collage, and other creative materials. Designed for all levels, this class is perfect for anyone who wants to explore new techniques and express their love of nature through layers of color, pattern, and texture. Each session includes live demonstrations and step-by-step guidance from the instructor, making it easy to follow along and develop your own unique landscape artwork. Session Breakdown:
Day 1: Introduction to Supplies & Painted Papers
We'll start by exploring mixed media materials, including different types of paints, adhesives, specialty papers, and canvas surfaces. Students will also begin preparing painted papers to use later in their collage work.
Day 2: Building the Background
Begin your canvas by laying in the base layers of your landscape using acrylic paints. We’ll focus on sky, land, and basic color structure to set the mood and composition.
Day 3: Collage the Landscape
Start adding dimension to your artwork by incorporating painted and specialty papers. Learn how to tear, layer, and adhere papers to build up areas of texture and interest in your landscape.
Days 4 & 5: Refining & Layering
Continue developing your landscape with additional layers of paper, paint, and mixed media materials. These sessions will focus on fine-tuning details, enhancing contrast, and personalizing your work. Instructor guidance and feedback will be available throughout.
