This playful 2-day workshop is designed to allow discovery of your own visual style. We will start by making many of the tools that will be used in class; carving a printing block, making stamps, cutting stencils, making a collagraphic plate etc. We will use low-tech printing processes and a “gellie” plate to make our marks. Throughout this process we will consider positive and negative shapes, color, transparency, opacity, overprinting, repetition, types of paper etc. Each print will inform the next, every decision builds towards a series of prints and a vocabulary that is uniquely yours.
All tools and some materials will be provided. Participants will take home a stack o’ prints! Come and be part of this creative experimentation.
