The mood of a painting is often influenced by its colors. Work with contrasting color temperatures as you explore simplifying shapes to create dynamic compositions. As you experiment with various color combinations, learn how to identify and manipulate values. Whether painting a captivating landscape filled with intense bold color or painting a stunning lake scene in soft subtle hues, lighting effects will be key. Be intentional with your color usage and communicate your creative vision of nature's beautiful moods! Reference material provided. Introductory watercolor experience needed.

- Watercolor Paper or Watercolor Block 140 lb cold press ( 9” x 12” or larger)
- Watercolor Brushes (#6 Round, #8 Round, 1” - 1 1/2” Flat)
- Watercolor Paints (These are the colors I use. I paint with Winsor Newton and Holbein but there are other excellent brands such as Daniel Smith and Sennelier. Bring your own favorites.) Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson, Indian Red, Rose Dore, Cadmium Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Transparent Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber, Olive Green, Terre Verde, Perylene Green, Cerulean Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Violet, Mineral Violet

- Tissues without lotion or paper towel (Viva being the best!)
