Autumn is a favorite subject for the artist with its splendor of color tempting a painter to portray the entire visual symphony. However, the artist must decide what the unique attraction will be. From trees ablaze in the crisp mountain air to a patch of pumpkins with the last-ditch sunflower blooms, discover the many ways to use contrast to emphasize the focal point of your subject. With leaves shifting from greens to a kaleidoscope of golds and reds, enhance your color mixing skills and practice manipulating color values to portray the vibrant palette of this season. Leaves are falling and autumn is calling you to paint your creative vision! Reference material provided. Introductory watercolor experience needed.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: In addition to developing skills using color, value, shapes, and edges, students will gain an understanding of contrast and atmospheric perspective.
