The sky high above is constant yet ever-changing and holds a deep allure for the artist. Whether painting idyllic or ominous spacious skies, work with the horizon line, perspective, and gradation to create convincing depth and dimension. Experiment with lifting and blotting techniques and edge variation to capture the soft, bright, luscious clouds that float in boundless blue. Observation and timing will be essential as you learn to let the water do the work. The sky's the limit on your artistic exploration! In addition to developing skills using color, value, shapes, and edges, students will feel confident using a variety of painting techniques and gain an understanding of perspective.
