This course in slow hand stitching teaches you how to repair and creatively enhance your fabrics. Learn interesting techniques to cover holes and add decorative elements using fabric scraps and embroidery thread. Discover the art of reviving textiles, allowing them to be used and reused for years to come. In this course, you will learn:
1. Basic stitches essential for mending
2. How to choose the right embroidery floss
3. Selecting appropriate needles for different tasks
4. The pros and cons of using an embroidery hoop
5. Techniques for applying patches to textiles

Join us to explore sustainable practices that combine practicality with creativity, giving your beloved textiles a second chance.
Bring a project/textile that has wear and tear or holes that you would like to enhance by stitching. I will supply needles, 1 spool of thread per student and 1 embroidery hoop per student.
If you have thread you want to use bring it.
If you sew with a thimble, bring it as well.
*Please bring your own scissors, I will not supply those.
If you want to share your textiles we welcome all kinds of examples so we can brainstorm how to mend them.
