Students will learn how to apply slip, stains, and underglazes to a plate. Wear clothes you don't mind getting messy in.

In this sampler, you will start with a pre-made plate painted with black underglaze and scratch through the surface to make an image. Using different tools, you can create different kinds of linework and textures. ASLD staff will glaze and fire your finished piece.

Students will learn about the sgraffito decoration technique, plan out a design, and apply it to a pre-made plate.

Clay for the class will be provided by ASLD and covered by an additional fee.
