Over generations, the loss of hand-crafted garments has created an increase in what we now refer to as “fast fashion” and quick-paced trends that poison our wallets and our Earth. While the health of our environment rapidly declines, little effort is made to steer our youth away from these habits.
The Art Students League of Denver (ASLD) invites teen artists 11-18 to participate in ‘Green Teens: A Teenage Response to Fast Fashion’ highlighting the mediums of fiber, fashion, and mixed media artwork.
This exhibit celebrates slow fashion and supports the young revolutionaries fighting for upcycling, sustainability, the long life of lived-in clothing as well as purposeful art made from repurposed materials. Artists are encouraged to push the limits and go against the grain by creating wearable and non-wearable art using non-traditional materials and second-hand materials.
For exhibit details, including call for entry guidelines, please see the "Other" tab.
