The Art Students League of Denver (ASLD) and the Colorado Metalsmithing Association (CoMA) present METALmorphosis: The Art of Transformation. This show, on view now at ASLD, highlights the amazing qualities of metal in its many forms. Creating with a sheet of silver, an ingot of gold, or steel wire, through process and repetition, is a transformative experience and requires attention from the artist that is unique to the field of metals.

Artworks showcased in this exhibit explore and interpret the art of metalsmithing through the process of intricate transformation, through techniques such as metallurgy, raising, soldering, reticulation, welding, forging, brazing, casting, stamping, chasing and repoussé, electroplating, etching, hydroforming, electroplating, etc.

Join us at ASLD on Friday, October 11, for a panel discussion by several of the participating artists.
