Food-tography Call Details

Food-tography is an exhibit highlighting the art of photographing food. These days it has become commonplace for us to photograph dishes we’ve prepared, the tables we’ve set, our order from our favorite restaurant, even the harvests from our gardens. Food-Tography welcomes your food-tastic expressions highlighting the beauty and artfulness of food through the medium of photography. This exhibit is a celebration of Month of Photography and complimentary to delecTABLE: A juried biennial ceramics exhibit dedicated to the fine art of dining. **The Food-tography Exhibit is NOT a juried portion of the show.

Call for Entry: December 7, 2026-January 18, 2027

Notification of Acceptance: January 25, 2027

Artwork Drop-off: February 1-6, 2027

Opening Reception: February 19, 2027

Exhibit Dates: February 19 - April 9, 2027

Unsold Artwork Pick-up: April 15-22, 2027

Call Type: Open Call for members and non-members of ASLD. This call is open to the public. You do not need to be a member or enrolled in classes at Art Students League of Denver to submit work to this exhibit. *This exhibit does not have a submission fee.

Artists are allowed up to two submissions each. Artwork submitted for this exhibition must be available for purchase with ASLD retaining a 40% commission on sales and 60% going to the artist. Payments are made to artists for sold work within 30 days after the close of the exhibit. The submission form will be available from December 7, 2026 – January 18, 2027. If you have trouble with the online form, you may request a PDF or fill out the form at the registration office. The submission form may close early if there is no longer space available. 

● Each artist must complete the Open Call Entry and Label form provided by the registration desk at the time of drop-off.

● Artwork should not exceed dimensions of 16" x 20” FRAMED

● Work must be ready-to-hang for installation.  

● Two Dimensional Art & Framing Parameters

● All photographs must be printed on photographic paper and framed.

● NO plastic frames. Black or neutral toned frames only.

● Frames must be in good condition.

● Works on canvas must be framed or have gallery-wrapped, finished edges with no visible staples.

● Hanging wire must be firmly attached to the back with screw-eyes or D-rings Wire should not exceed the top of the frame.

● NO saw-tooth hangers.

● Please deliver your artwork to ASLD securely and as you would want it to be packaged for a buyer: Wrapped safely in protective material such as paper or bubble-wrap if necessary. 

● If you have business cards or promotional information you would like shared with buyers of your work, please include this in your packaging materials as we do not share buyers contact information with artists after purchases are made.    

Artwork may be dropped off at ASLD’s Registration Office from February 1-6, 2027. You will be asked to fill out a Loan Agreement form at the registration desk where you will provide contact information, insurance value and the price for your work.
