We accept new board members as needed. Currently all of our board positions are full.

  • Inform strategic vision for the organization
  • Support the fiscal health of the organization
  • Serve as an ambassador for ASLD
  • Guide the business affairs of ASLD
  • Work as a team with staff and faculty to promote the well-being of the organization
  • Supervise the Executive Director
  1. Attend Board meetings: Attend regularly scheduled meetings (currently occur on the 4th Wednesday of every month at 4pm)

 

  1. Serve on at least one committee:
    • Executive Committee (for Board Officers)
    • Finance
    • Communications & Development
    • Board Development & Engagement
    • JEDIA (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility)
    • Summer Art Market
    • Faculty Advisory (for Faculty Board members)
    • Young Adult Advisory (for Young Adult Board members)
    • Ad hoc committees based on current strategic initiatives

 

  1. Other time commitments:
    • Volunteer at ASLD’s annual Summer Art Market (in late August each year)
    • Attend a number of events throughout the year

 

  1. Financial support: ASLD asks Board Members to make a yearly financial “give-get” gift that is personally significant to them which is applied to the overall Board Giving goal (set by the board annually), and must include a personal monetary contribution to ensure ASLD has 100% participation.
  • At Large and Young Professionals (23-30 years old): may serve two consecutive 3-year terms.
  • ASLD Faculty: may serve one 3-year term
  • Young Adults (16-22 years old): may serve two consecutive 1-year terms.

Young art lovers between the ages of 16 and 21 have the chance to build their leadership skills at ASLD as Youth Representatives on the Board of Directors. They work together to build awareness with other youth in their age groups about ASLD.
