In celebration of Month of Printmaking, or Mo’Print, ASLD will host two concurrent exhibits. Supporting Indigenous Sisters will take place on the first floor of the main building, and Printmaking 101 will be upstairs. We’ll also host Visiting Artist Sue Oehme as part of Mo’Print.

SUPPORTING INDIGENOUS SISTERS

An International Print Exchange with Sylvia Montero

Exhibition Dates: March 8-April 14, 2024

Location: Art Students League of Denver, 200 Grant St.

Opening Reception: Friday, March 8, 2024 | 5:30-8:00PM

This exhibit includes a portfolio of artworks that begin the conversation about missing and murdered indigenous women. Featured works, collected from women artists across the globe by ASLD faculty member Sylvia Montero, advocate for change and act as a voice for this dark present/history. The featured artists are connected by their support of sisterhood and their belief that womanhood can be safe and healthy.

Since the initial creation of this portfolio of works, Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland has announced the creation of a special unit to investigate missing and murdered Native Americans.
