Join ASLD in Finland, with a side trip to Estonia, for an atelier focused on letterpress and the art of the book, led by the artist Rhiannon Alpers. Alpers is a book artist, letterpress printer, and papermaker, who has exhibited internationally. Her edition and one-of-a-kind artist books are produced under the Gazelle and Goat Press imprint, a letterpress and bookbinding studio located in Denver. Participants will start in Helsinki, and then head to Fiskars Village, a community of creatives in rural Finland. There Alpers will teach a variety of book, paper, and letterpress techniques. Studio tours and artist meet and greets will be part of the adventure as we explore the area. At the end of the week, the group will head to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia and another creative place, and ashort ferry ride from Helsinki.
