ATELIER WORKSHOP: Creating Patterns and Image Transfers with Painting
Friday–Saturday, Nov. 8–9, 2019 | 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
Learn how to produce layered paintings in acrylic and oil through the use of patterns and image transfers.
Students are invited to try out pattern making techniques including pochoir, taping, press printing, basic litho process and more. We will also explore the use of image transfers and collage with painting in multiple ways, helping students expand the ability to produce painted works through the use of unique designs and borrowed imagery.
Students will be asked to bring images and patterns of interest in order to produce a small series of experimental works that utilize a variety of alternative print-related methods in the realm of painting.
