Visiting Artist Sue Oehme gives an artist talk about her process and inspiration. Oehme is a Visiting Artist at ASLD in celebration of Mo’Print 2024. She is founder and principal of Oehme Graphics in Steamboat Springs (CO), one of the country’s leading fine print publishers. Susan received her BFA in printmaking and painting from the University of Michigan and continued her print education at NYU. Prior to her move to Colorado, she printed at Tyler Graphics (NYC) with artists Frank Stella, Helen Frankenthaler and Joan Mitchell. Watercolor and Oil Collagraph Monoprints for all levels

Students will learn collagraph platemaking using plexi and mat boards as substrates, including using carborundum aquatint, and various inking techniques such as relief rolling, wiping, rubbings, and à la poupée (multiple simultaneous colors). We will start with a brief introduction with watercolor monotypes, that can be used with the collagraph technique.
