We will create our own intaglio printing plates and print them on paper.
We will explore zinc etching, dry point, and various techniques for plate-making, then we will learn proper wiping and printing techniques. This is for any level of printmaker, from novice to advanced.
Learn to make hand made printing plates and print on paper using ASLD’s presses and facilities. Get instruction in all things intaglio: collograph, solar plate etching, dry point and engraving, with an emphasis on zinc etching using traditional methods.
Learning Objectives: Learn to make intaglio printing plates via acid etching, drypoint, or any number of intaglio techniques. Then, learn to ink, wipe and print those plates. If the student is experienced, we can and will explore more advanced techniques and help them to grow in the discipline of printmaking.
