This workshop is for the scrounger, the collector, the saver of stuff. Together, we will explore the endless possibilities of the additive approach to sculpture making as we figure out how to assemble together separate parts into new sculptural realities. There will be an emphasis on physical joining methods, using hand tools, a few basic power tools, and a variety of hardware. Students in my workshop will be exposed to a variety of tools and hardware, so they can see how they can be used to join parts together. I will give assistance on matters of composition and joining challenges. At the end of the workshop, students will have completed one or more finished sculptures.
Students are required to provide their own tools and materials.
Materials and tools will be discussed during the first class.
