In Oil Portraits From Life, we will paint a different model every week. The focus with be building solid block-ins using generalities such as large value shapes . We will practice accurate proportions using tools such as plumb lines, and comparative measurements. In addition we will cover basic color theory and the importance of edge quality.

Palette-many options here from a sheet of glass to disposable pallet pad.

Palette Knife. At least 3” long.

Brushes-Variety of sizes made for oil painting sizes 0-6ish

Canvas panel or canvas paper. I recommend Centurion universal primed canvas board 9”x 12” (can order

from Amazon). One for each week.
